Before it became the Cumbres nd Toltec, I rode the D&RGW from Alamosa to Cumbers on an excursion in the ’60s around October 1066. It was an all day trip and we’ll into the night. I remember riding from Antonio to Alamosa in the dark with the oil lamps on in the coach and the stove being the only heat in the coach.
The pictures of stations are beautiful.
